FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NORWICH, ON. – Saturday August 29th kicked off the opening day of the Norwich World Round-UP (NWR). Despite sporadic sunshine the event drew massive, record setting crowds; coming from as far as Toronto and Windsor.
The two day event attracted 5800 attendees to the daytime western programming with 61 supporting sponsors. The largest tent in North America was the venue for the notorious Saturday night Dinner & Dance, pulling a large but well behaved crowd of 1400.

“This year’s event was precedent setting in terms of building momentum for 2010.” states NWR managers Jordon Underhill and Matthew Heleniak. “A successful event is all about momentum and good will. We are extremely thankful to the Vankerrebroeck family, the dedication displayed by our staff, volunteers and sponsors. The community of Norwich embraced the Norwich World Round-UP and showed up to support.” says Underhill and Heleniak.

Post event, the Norwich World Round-UP has made contributions to the Norwich Optimist Club, Norwich Lions Club, Burgessville Bulls and the Oxford Pony Club.

Planning is already underway for NWR 2010. In the works is an authentic 1840’s grand encampment, community chilli cook off with celebrity chef, western gun slingers and trick ropers - this event is sure to exceed expectations once again.

Due to the success in 2009, the NWR has announced they are now a 2½ day event, adding Friday PM. The dates for NWR 2010 are: August 27th, 28th, 29th. There will be special programming commencing Friday evening, a full line-up of new western programming for both Saturday and Sunday, and the Saturday night Dinner & Dance.
